Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd is committed to protecting the integrity of sport and racing. We cooperate with controlling bodies and integrity agencies and act on conduct that threatens the fairness of any market.
Trading name
palmerbat is a registered trading name of Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd (ABN 89 154 794 411, ACN 154 794 411), the licensed operator of this site. References to “palmerbat” on this page mean Palmer Bookmaking Pty Ltd acting under that trading name.
Prohibited conduct
The following are strictly prohibited and may result in voided wagers, withheld balances, account suspension or closure, and referral to authorities:
- match-fixing, spot-fixing or any arrangement to influence an event or contingency;
- courtsiding or transmitting event data for wagering advantage;
- wagering on an event in which you have inside information or a prohibited connection (for example, as a participant, official or connection bound by a sport’s integrity rules);
- collusion, syndicate activity concealed behind a single account, or third-party agency arrangements; and
- operating multiple accounts to evade limits or integrity controls.
Who we work with
palmerbat cooperates with Sport Integrity Australia, the relevant racing controlling bodies, sporting controlling bodies and law-enforcement agencies, and operates under race-fields and integrity arrangements with the relevant Australian controlling bodies.
New South Wales racing controlling bodies
- Racing NSW — thoroughbred racing (Thoroughbred Racing Act 1996 (NSW)).
- Harness Racing NSW — harness racing (Harness Racing Act 2009 (NSW)).
- Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) — greyhound racing (Greyhound Racing Act 2017 (NSW)).
Sporting controlling bodies
Where we offer markets on their competitions, we work with the relevant sporting controlling bodies under their wagering and integrity arrangements, including:
- Australian Football League (AFL);
- National Rugby League (NRL);
- Cricket Australia;
- Football Australia (the A-Leagues);
- Tennis Australia;
- Basketball Australia / National Basketball League (NBL).
Information sharing
For integrity, investigative and regulatory purposes, palmerbat may share customer and wagering information with the bodies listed above. This is described in our Privacy policy and forms part of our Terms of service.
Monitoring and suspicious activity
We monitor wagering activity for unusual patterns and report suspicious betting activity to the relevant integrity body. Markets may be suspended at the trading desk’s discretion during an integrity incident.
Insider information
Insider information means information about an event or a participant that is not generally available to the public and that, if it were generally available, could reasonably be expected to affect the outcome of the event or the price of a market. It includes (without limitation) confidential information about team selection, injuries, withdrawals, tactics, the condition of a runner or competitor, or any arrangement to influence an event, that a person holds because of a position, role or relationship.
Using insider information to place a wager, or passing it to another person for that purpose, is prohibited and may be an offence under sport-integrity rules and applicable law. Wagers connected with the misuse of insider information may be voided and referred to the relevant integrity body.
Reporting a concern
Suspected match-fixing, corruption or other integrity issues can be reported in confidence to integrity@palmerbat.com. Reporters may remain confidential.
